CITY OF RENSSELAER STREET DEPARTMENT:
The City of Rensselaer Street Department maintains 40.5 miles of city streets that make up Rensselaer.                                                     
Keeping the streets clean and passable for the community is our responsibility. 
While remaining environmentally conscious and cost effective, the Street Department is committed to serving our community.
Street Department Responsibilities: 
  • Weekly collection of organic waste such as yard waste, brush and leaves
  • Patching potholes and preparing streets for resurfacing
  • Street Sweeping
  • Snow Removal
  • Monitoring and maintaining alleyways
  • Maintenance of street signs
  • Tree trimming
  • City wide clean-up week
