The function of the Clerk-Treasurer, an elected official, is to serve as fiscal officer for the City of Rensselaer.
The Clerk-Treasurer appoints deputies to serve in the capacity as the Clerk-Treasurer.
There are currently three Deputy Clerk-Treasurers - Marcia Mathew, Linda DeMoss and Genny Daniels.
The Clerk-Treasurer's Office is responsible for receiving all money collected by utilities, building, police and cemetery departments, in addition to state and county tax distributions. The employees audit and prepare A/P vouchers for payment and print checks once approved by Council.
