The function of the Clerk-Treasurer, an elected official, is to serve as fiscal officer for the City of Rensselaer.
The Clerk-Treasurer appoints deputies to serve in the capacity as the Clerk-Treasurer. 
There are currently three Deputy Clerk-Treasurers - Marcia Mathew, Linda DeMoss and Genny Daniels.

  • Payroll, withholding, employee insurance and retirements
  • Employee files and benefits
  • Manages and reconciles 121 City Funds and 6 Bank Accounts and 11 Bond Accounts
  • Budgets, Transfers and additional Appropriations
  • Secretary to Common Council and Board of Public Works
  • Administers oaths
  • Fixed assets for city
  • W-2's and 1099's
  • Custodian of Official Records
  • Custodian of City Seal
