Parks & Pools

Joe EffingerThe Rensselaer Parks Department maintains nine beautiful parks throughout our community.  The parks are open to the public until 11:00 pm CST.  Park Board meetings are held every first Monday of the month at 6:00 pm at the Iroquois Park Maintenance Building.  The public is highly encouraged to attend.
 
Our parks provide recreation for all ages, and we encourage everyone to utilize the many amenities they have to offer.
 
La Rue Memorial Pool at Brookside Park typically opens just in time for summer break and closes around the beginning of the school year. 
 
Amenities of the Rensselaer Park System:
> Three lighted Baseball Diamonds 
> La Rue Memorial Pool
> Lighted Tennis Courts
> Four pavilion picnic areas with water and electric availability
> Three new playground structures
> Summer Youth Baseball and Girls' Softball programs
> Summer Swim Team
> Two Canoe Landings 
> One Boat Launch
> Six Horseshoe Pits, located behind Iroquois Headquarters
>1/4-mile track, located at Brookside Park
> Football field
> Frisbee Golf, located at Brookside Park
